Preventive /Restorative dentistry

Preventive dentistry is the practice of caring for your teeth to keep them healthy and avoiding cavities, gum diseases, enamel wear and more.
SmilePolyClinic by Dr. Ziad Dehaybi recommends:
- Daily brushing
- Flossing
- Dental cleanings every 6 months
- Balanced diet
“It is always better to prevent than to treat”

A dental restoration or dental filling is a treatment to restore good form and function of missing tooth structure resulting from caries or external trauma. The extent of the decay will define the extent of the preparation, and in turn, the appropriate materials for restoration: amalgam, resine composite or zirconia inlays/onlays.
Our Intra-oral camera will allow you to become aware of your tooth cavities and be involved with your dentist in creating your own treatment plan.

Dental crowns and tooth bridges

A crown, sometimes called a “dental cap” refers to a type of restoration that completely covers a damaged tooth or can be placed on top of a dental implant providing a tooth-like shape and structure for function.
Bridges are commonly used to replace one or more missing teeth. Gaps left by missing teeth eventually cause the remaining teeth to rotate or shift into the empty spaces causing a bad bite, gum diseases and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders.
Bridges are cemented to the natural teeth or implants surrounding the empty space.

A dead tooth does in your mouth what a dead branch does on a tree. The branch appears to look solid but in fact it is emptied of its essence and can break at any moment.
Dr. Ziad Dehaybi recommends a crown when you have to:
- Replace a large defectuous filling
- Protect a weak tooth from fracturing
- Restore a fractured tooth
- Attach a bridge
- Cover a dental implant
- Cover a tooth that has undergone root canal treatment

Since 2012 S.P.C. by Dr. Ziad Dehaybi is a metal-free clinic. WHY??
At S.P.C. Zirconia crowns totally replaced ceramo-metallic crowns. Nickel-chrome , the alloy used in metallic crowns causes gum tattoo and halitosis. Zirconia is way more esthetic, plus It is the hardest known ceramic in industry and the strongest material used in dentistry, it has to be fabricated using a CAD/CAM process only.
Since S.P.C. has its own laboratory “SmilePolyLab” and its own CAD/CAM milling machine , we can proudly serve you best with
less time, less money and best quality.

At SmilePolyClinic taking an impression is a piece of cake!
Old traditional impression techniques are totally replaced by Sirona Digital scanner which offers many benefits from time savings, to accuracy and ease of storing electronic data and most importantly patient’s comfort.

- Deep tooth decay
- Large defectuous old filling
- Traumatic damage of the tooth ( crack, chip or root fracture)
- Gum diseases
Raise your standards at S.P.C. and ask for :
- A Rubber dam to isolate the operative field
- The use of Laser to sterilize the root canals

But let’s not stress about it and always keep in mind : root canal treatment never causes pain, it relieves it !!

Dental implants and surgery

What can I do?
Dental implants are a “ third set of teeth” one of the most predictable and conservative ways of replacing missing teeth , preserving and stimulating jawbone with the best long-term success.

A successful diagnosis is half the treatment
- panoramic x ray
- CBCT x ray
are primordial before any implant surgery to develop an individualized treatment plan, to determine the length and width of your bone in the operation site, and uncover any anatomical obstacle or limitation.

Implants are made of biocompatible titanium screws that are drilled in the appropriate jaw site. After osseointegration, permanent crowns, bridges or removable dental appliances are placed.
However there are some conditions and diseases that can affect whether dental implants are right for you such as : excessive smoking, uncontrolled diabetes or hypertension, cancer, uncontrolled periodontal diseases.
It is important to tell us about your medical status together with the medication you take
PS.: according to the American Dental Association , if you smoke 5 cigarettes per day or more then you are a HEAVY smoker!!

Advantages of dental implants:
- Pain free procedure
- Improved appearance and self-esteem
- improved chewing
- improved oral health
